Water - The Basis of All Life
Water is the life blood of all living things. For us humans, hydration is not only essential for life, but is critical for optimal function of the body and mind. The bodily percentage of water in humans is said to range 45 – 75% with a more average between 60% - 75%.
#NationalHydrationDay is celebrated on June 23
in honor of football coach Victor Hawkins, who invented a hydrating mouthguard for his players to use while playing on the football field.

Dehydration It is highly common for Americans to be chronically dehydrated, especially in older adults.
Dehydration Symptoms - every 1% of dehydration = 10% energy loss in every cell - 1% water deficiency causes thirst - 5% causes fever - 10% causes mood alteration (less focus, tired, irritable etc…) - 20% water loss can lead to death
Signs of Severe Dehydration - dry mouth - headache - constipation - depression - fever

- In nature, water movement breaks down rock into soil (natures way of extracting minerals, creating energy and cleaning the water) which feeds life.
- If admitted to a hospital with dehydration, you typically are not given a glass of water to drink but rather IV fluids that contains water with sodium chloride solution (less then 1%). Why?? because a proper balance of both are needed to hydrate cells without drowning them.
- Too much water without an electrolyte balance such as provided with air-dried natural salt, can have dangerous effects: seizures, coma and even death.
