Updated: Jan 11, 2021

How would you like to reduce/eliminate hot flashes, mood swings, severe PMS, food cravings, migraines, irregular menstrual cycles, painful menstrual cycles, depression, accelerated aging, risk of cancer and improve libido, weight loss, energy, long term health without adding toxins but rather remove toxins from your body? Honestly, who would not want to? Well, this blog series will point you in that right direction, by helping you understand what causes hormone imbalances and how your body can innately re-balance its hormones. Today will give a brief overview of the endocrine hormone system, outline elements you can avoid/correct that can imbalance your hormones and a provides a test to determine your hormone levels.

Hormones The hormones specifically being addressed in this blog are the ones involved with the endocrine system. These are called steroid hormones: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, pregnenolone, DHEA, cortisol, and aldosterone. In order for your body to produce these hormones it needs cholesterol which requires undamaged healthy fats. Did I just say cholesterol and fats? Yikes! Aren’t they bad words? With all the propaganda and pharmaceuticals pushing lowered cholesterol drugs and low fat foods you would think it is. Let’s briefly break this down to help you understand why both cholesterol and undamaged healthy fats are both essential for the endocrine system and overall proper support for the function of the body and mind. Cholesterol Yes the body needs cholesterol to produce proper levels of hormones and for several other essential human body functions such as.. – maintain cell membranes structure keeping them strong young and functioning – needed to breakdown fats – protects vital organs by binding toxins for excretion out of the body Unfortunately, the multi-billion dollar industry of cholesterol lowering drugs can be doing many humans a huge dis-service by hindering their vital functions, (not to mention all the side effects that come along with these drugs). Undamaged Healthy Fats For long term health and for your body to be able to support its internal functions, undamaged healthy fats are essential. Just a few of the functions these nutrients are needed for: proper function of endocrine system, uptake minerals and vitamins, produce cholesterol levels, digestion system, brain function, eye health, cell health. Glands of the Endocrine System Glands associated with the endocrine system include: pituitary, hypothalamus, adrenals, thyroid, liver, ovaries, and testes (some believe the parathyroid have an energetic connection as well). Chain of command: hypothalamus regulates pituitary which sends signals to adrenals, gonads (male and female), and thyroid, the thyroid releases mostly T4 and some T3, the liver converts most of T4 into T3, adrenal via cortisol is part of the feedback loop to the hypothalamus. The main point here is to not give you an anatomy lesson but so you can see how each gland is linked together. If one comes out of balance it could create a domino imbalance to the entire system, therefore to re-create balance of the hormone system, it should never be just one gland that is addressed.

Elements to avoid/correct that can Imbalance the Hormone System Chronic Stress S.A.D. Diet Genetic Expression Medications Drugs Emotional Imbalances Adrenal Exhaustion Scar Tissue Dental Work Toxins: Environmental Home Care/Personal Care Products Heavy Metals Synthetic Electrical Magnetic Frequencies Negative Emotional Identities

Symptoms of Hormone Imbalance (just to name a few) Hypo/hyper thyroid Chronic fatigue Low libido Weight gain Hair loss Elongated post-menopause Severe PMS Depression Adrenal stress Lumps in breast Ovarian tumors/cysts Excess facial hair Gallstones Heart attack/stroke Cancer How do you know if your hormones are out of whack? Hormones change daily, hour by hour, and based upon your environments. Due to the ultra sensitivity of hormone shifting the best indicator of hormone levels is through saliva testing which will show free unbound hormones to reflect real life conditions and responses. Blood hormone panels are not sensitive enough to show the intricate changes of a hormone system and therefore are not recommended. Urine panels are also not recommended as they do not reflect hormones at tissue level.

Dr. Dales clinical Five Elemental Saliva Test observes the full panel of male and female steroid hormones, 5 cortisol tests that correspond with the body’s natural circadian clock organs glands and emotions. This test also observes food intolerances and parasites, all within the comfort of your own home and simply ship via mail. (Many times hormones can be altered just by the stress of entering into a doctor’s office). With the your in-home saliva lab results you’ll receive a custom program for balancing hormone levels in which a consultation with Tracy can be set-up to review your program.
