Whitney , Pilates Instuctor
I grew up in Manhattan Beach and I have always been involved in athletics since a very young age. I started playing volleyball competitively at the age of 9. I went to Mira Costa High school and played volleyball through college. From a young age I was taught determination. My discipline and dedication to athletics continued when I went away to college at SMU in Dallas, Texas. There I earned a scholarship where I played Division 1 volleyball and graduated from SMU in May 2007 with a Sociology degree. Conditioning, nutrition and exercise have always been a life style for me. I have always had a passion for the body and learning the anatomy of movement. It didn't take me long to realize that Pilates isn't just an exercise, but a way a life. After a few months of doing Pilates I quickly discovered that this is what I love and I wanted to become a Pilates Instructor. June 2009 my completed Pilates certificataion was recognized "With Distinction" through the Long Beach Dance Conditioning - Advances in Pilates Technique comprehensive Pilates Trainging Program. Pilates is what I am most passionate about and I love the fact that I can share all the knowledge I have with people so they can stay physically and mentally fit.
